Op. Dr. Murat Karakuş was born in Çorum in 1967. After Bursa Erkek Lisesi he graduated from the English-language Faculty of Medicine at Hacettepe University and completed his compulsory service in Rize in 1993.
Between 1993 and 1999 he completed his residency in Brain, Spinal Cord and Nerve Surgery at Karadeniz Technical University in Trabzon. There, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Süleyman Baykal and Prof. Dr. Kayhan Kuzeyli, he turned to neurosurgery and specialized in minimally invasive techniques and the non-surgical treatment of lumbar and cervical disc herniation.
With a special interest in minimally invasive treatment, Dr. Murat Karakuş closely follows current methods in nucleoplasty and offers his patients non-surgical, comfortable and personalized solutions. We visited our patients at home and recorded their treatment outcomes.
She came to our clinic on 12 September with pain radiating to her lower back, hip and left leg, together with numbness and loss of strength. After evaluation, nucleoplasty and supportive procedures were applied to the regions causing the pain.
When we visited her at home in Bayburt on 19 November, she told us her daily movements had become easier and her lower-back pain had clearly decreased.
She presented with 3–4 months of pain radiating down her left leg to the heel, with numbness and tingling. A herniation was found at the L4-5 level. We performed ozone nucleoplasty at left L4-5 together with DRG and RFT applications.
Three months after the procedure we visited her at home in Edirne. She shared her satisfaction with the process and the clear relief in her complaints.
