Born in 1967 in Çorum, Dr. Murat Karakuş graduated from Bursa Boys’ High School and completed Hacettepe University English Faculty of Medicine in 1992.

Between 2000-2007, he provided surgery and treatment services in the Department of Neurosurgery at Aksaray State Hospital and received microdiscectomy training during this period. He also received training in intradiscal RF (non-surgical herniated disc treatments) at Ankara Medical Faculty Neurosurgery Department.

Between 2008 and 2013, he was instrumental in purchasing scopes and operating microscopes in some private hospitals in Istanbul and started microdiscectomy surgeries. He has performed trigger point injections, neural therapy and non-surgical interventional pain treatments in patients with musculoskeletal pain and a wide range of head and neck pain.

Dr. Karakuş, who worked as an operator doctor at Istanbul Istinye State Hospital Neurosurgery Clinic between 2013-2020, still serves his patients in his private practice.

He is working on lumbar and cervical hernia surgeries under the microscope, non-surgical pain treatments and interventional applications with radiological imaging. The German school of neural therapy (in the treatment of headaches, back and neck pain, musculoskeletal pain) is of special interest.

He offers preventive medicine and personalized treatments to his patients with a “Holistic and Functional Medicine” approach. Today, he believes in the necessity of herbal, vitamin and mineral supplements due to environmental factors and applies his medical treatments in this direction.
